Nitya Kuppireddy is a senior at Saint Francis High School in Mountain View, CA. She has been volunteering with Donum Visi for five years and has been teaching classes to raise funds for the visually impaired and help youth find their passions in STEM. She presented at the POSB national conference about technological innovations for the visually impaired.

After being introduced to coding at a club in her middle school, Nitya became interested in computer science. She was accepted to the Cisco Global STEM Program, awarded a scholarship to the Kode with Klossy Camp at LinkedIn, and invited to the Girls Who Code Immersion Program, where she continued her education in computer science. Nitya is a three time recipient of the NCWIT Aspirations in Computing Award Regional Affiliate Award. She earned a Girl Scout Gold Award for her iOS app that increases access to food distribution services for citizens. Nitya conducted university-level research on antibiotics and worked on developing a machine learning program for cancer detection at the Aspiring Scholars Directed Research Program.

In addition to her STEM interests, Nitya is involved in business and public speaking. She is a host for Humanity Rising’s “What Cause Inspires You” podcast, which has over 100,000 listeners. At the Tie Young Entrepreneurs program, her team won an award for their product pitch for artificial intelligence technology to fix back posture. She is a board member for TEDxSaintFrancisHS, Business Club, and Stock Market Club at her school.
In her free time, Nitya loves to dance and is a classically trained Kuchipudi dancer. She enjoys drawing and traveling.
